Does Dance Studio No. 1 have a dress code? 2017-08-31T07:07:40-07:00

Yes.  An easy-to-print, one-paged dress code listing can be found under “Getting Started”.  The two nearby retailers who sell DS1’s dress code are listed on this print out as well.  Simply print the document and take with you to the store for all your dress code needs.

When can a student move up to the next level? 2018-12-17T20:35:40-08:00

This question is best answered separately for the Young Children’s Program and the Classical Ballet Program:

For the Young Children’s Program (ages 3-6), the Studio guidelines are that for Fairytale Dance, students must have turned 3; and Pre-Ballet, students must have turned 4.  If your child turns of age before December 1st, with the approval of the teacher, they may move up into the next level at the beginning of the following session. However, in comparison to an academic school year, it is preferable that students complete a full year of their level before moving on to the next.

The Classical Ballet Program is designed to align with the academic years of K through 12 (ages 5 & up, or Pre-Primary & up).  Once a student is in the Classical Ballet Program, they move up a level every academic year (summer/fall).  Teachers at the Studio also keep a close eye on each student’s progress to ensure they’re placed in the appropriate grade for their age/skill level.

If we miss a class, is it possible to make up that class at another time? 2017-08-31T07:05:00-07:00

Absolutely.  Just call or email the Studio and the receptionist will be happy to find another class where there is space available.  Make up classes must take place within the same 9-week session as the missed class.  Make up classes are not permitted in classes that have already reached maximum occupancy.

I tried to get my child into a class on a specific time/day, but the class was already full.  What are my options? 2017-08-31T07:04:04-07:00

For the benefit of all students, we do limit our class sizes to ensure personalized, one-on-one attention.  Classes can fill up quickly and sometimes certain class times fill up faster than others.  To combat this dilemma, the Studio has created a schedule where all levels are offered on several days during the week to ensure all students can find something that works with their schedule.

How do I know when is tuition due? 2017-08-31T07:02:05-07:00

Classes are offered in 9-week sessions.  Tuition is due the week prior to the start of the session.  Start and end dates of upcoming sessions are posted on our Studio Calendar on the homepage of this website.
