Dance Studio No. 1 gives its students the opportunity to showcase their talents and dedication through various performance opportunities during the year.
Students enrolled in DS1’s Syllabus Program are invited to participate in at least one recital — in December or June. Every year the Studio holds optional in-studio examinations in the early spring. Occasionally, students can also perform at senior retirement homes or local public libraries.
Older students in the Pre-Professional Program are invited to audition in the fall for national competitions. Past competition venues have included Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP), Starbound, and Revolution Dance Competition.
During the summer, we hold our two-week Summer Ballet Intensive that culminates in a awards performance, where a guest judge from the International Dance Acclaim (I.D.A.) officiates the Awards presentation.
Recreational students are invited to participate in the June recital and are welcome to sign up for our summer performance opportunities as well.
